8/13/12 WWE Monday Night Raw Live Report

We see the Raw opening video and Michael Cole welcomes us to the show from Dallas, Texas.

Match #1: CM Punk vs. The Big Show
Show shoves Punk to the mat quickly, but Punk comes back with some right hands and a few kicks to Show. Show delivers a head-butt, which sends Punk do the mat again, and then chokes Punk over the middle rope. Show punches Punk in the corner and delivers a chop for good measure. Punk comes out of the corner with some right hands and charges at Show, but She knocks him down to the mat again. Show stands on Punk’s back and then stands on his head before delivering another chop against the ropes. Show grabs Punk’s head and picks him up, but Punk fights back and connects with a drop kick, which had no affect on Show. Show takes control again and head-butts Punk down to the mat. Show drives an elbow into Punk’s shoulder and drops him to the mat again before standing on his back. Show sends Punk off the ropes, but Punk connects with some kicks to Show’s legs and tries to clothesline Show three time. Show grabs Punk and tosses him into the corner and charges, but Punk moves and hits the running knee in the corner. Punk goes for the bulldog, but Show shoves him off and connects with a spear. Daniel Bryan’s music hits and he comes out screaming, “No no no!” He gets at the announcers’ table and says he deserves to be in the WWE Championship Match at SummerSlam. Show slams Punk to the mat and gets a two count on the Champion. Show goes to the ropes, but Punk kicks him down and hits a forearm shot off the top rope for a two count. Bryan gets in the ring and attacks Punk as the referee calls for the bell., and the applies the No Lock on Punk. Winner by disqualification: CM Punk. After the match, Show stands back and watches before dropping an elbow on Punk. John Cena comes out and goes after Show and clotheslines him over the top rope. Bryan charges at Cena, but Cena elevates him over the top rope to the floor. Raw General Manager AJ comes out and says later tonight, Daniel Bryan will team with The Big Show to take on CM Punk and John Cena. Punk and Cena argue in the ring after the announcement.

We see that Brock Lesnar and Triple H will have a contract signing for their match at SummerSlam as we go to a commercial break.

We’re back from commercial and we see JTG and Kaitlyn backstage. JTG says there are three hours of Raw, and “the flyest man in WWE” can’t get a match. AJ walks up and asks him what he just said. She asks him if he thinks she’s doing a bad job as GM. He says no. She says if he wants to compete so badly, get to the ring and she’ll find him an opponent. She turns to Kaitlyn and asks if she thinks if she is unstable. Kaitlyn says she can think of a lot of words to describe AJ and unstable is not one of them.

Match #2: JTG vs. Ryback
Ryback shoves JTG to the mat and goes after him, but JTG gets into the ropes. JTG gets a little bit of offense in, but Ryback tosses him over his head to the mat. Ryback slams JTG’s head into the mat and delivers a power bomb. The crowd chants “Feed me more!” as Ryback delivers a big clothesline. Ryback hits JTG with Shell Shocked for the pin fall. Winner: Ryback.

We are informed that we will get to pick the guest for Piper’s Pit tonight. The choices are Chris Jericho, The Miz, or Dolph Ziggler. We go to a commercial break.

We’re back and we see that Santino Marella will defend the United States Championship against Antonio Cesaro on the SummerSlam Pre-Show this Sunday.

We go backstage and see Roddy Piper. He is mumbling that it doesn’t matter who is picked and turns to Shawn Michaels. Michaels gets a phone call and says to the person that they need to be here now.

Match #3: Heath Slater vs. R-Truth
Before the match, Michael Cole informs us that Truth and Kingston will defend the WWE Tag Team Championship against The Prime Time Players this Sunday at SummerSlam. Truth backs Slater into the corner and hip tosses him off of the ropes. Truth gets Slater into the corner again and slaps Slater, but Slater comes back and hits a neck breaker on Truth. Slater stomps on Truth and kicks him in the midsection. Slater gets Truth in a headlock, but Truth comes back and clothesline Slater to the mat. Truth hits his finisher for the pin fall. Winner: R-Truth. After the match, The Prime Time Players comes out and attack Truth. We go to a commercial break.

We’re back and we see Mark Henry Touting from London, where he spent time at the Olympics.

We see that DJ Pauly D is the Social Media Ambassador for tonight and the crowd boos. We see some of the tweets that he has sent out so far during the show.

We see a recap of what happened between Alberto Del Rio and Sheamus from this past Friday on Smackdown, where Del Rio hired guys to help him beat down Sheamus at the end of the show and as a result, the World Heavyweight Championship match between the two at SummerSlam was cancelled by Smackdown General Manager Booker T. We see a Tout from Del Rio where he says he and Booker will have a discussion about the match this Friday on Smackdown.

Match #4: Sin Cara vs. Tensai (w/Sakamoto)
Tensai slams Sin Cara down to the mat and then picks him up and attempts to power bomb him. Sin Cara fights back and tries to roll up Tensai, but Tensai comes back and takes Sin Cara down with a shoulder block. Sin Cara comes back and Sakamoto gets on the ring apron. Sin Cara escapes and sends Tensai into Sakamoto. Sin Cara comes off the top rope and DDT’s Tensai for the pin fall. Winner: Sin Cara. After the match, Tensai attacks Sakamoto and leaves him lying in the ring.

We go backstage and Shawn Michaels asks a guy if he has seen “him.” The guy says no and Michaels says to tell him if he does. He says not to tell him that he is looking for him, though.

We see that the choice for the guest on Piper’s Pit will be revealed next as we go to a commercial break.

We’re back and Jerry Lawler introduces Roddy Piper. Piper says he needs to catch up. He says Ziggler has Money in the Bank, Jericho can’t win the big one, and The Miz is a movie star, and the fans get to pick who is on his show. Lawler says yes and reveals that Jericho won the vote. Jericho makes his way to the ring. Piper says the last time he saw Jericho, Mickey Rourke was punching him out. Jericho says the last time he saw Piper, he was punching him out at WrestleMania. Piper says he doesn’t remember that. Piper says the fans are cheering Jericho because Ziggler says he can’t win the big one. Piper says Jericho’s dad wasn’t a quitter and won the big one. Vickie Guerrero comes out and interrupts and brings out Dolph Ziggler. Ziggler asks Piper how long he has been doing this same, tired routine. Ziggler says it’s not fun, groundbreaking, or nostalgic, but it is sad. Ziggler tells Jericho to look at Piper and realize that’s where he’s headed. Ziggler asks Jericho how many failed comebacks does it take for him to realize he doesn’t have it anymore. Jericho compares Ziggler’s hair to a bowl of spaghetti. Jericho tells Vickie to shut the hell up, which gets a big pop from the crowd. Jericho says that he is going to prove Ziggler wrong and beat him at SummerSlam. The Miz’s music hits and he makes his way to the ring. Miz asks Jericho “Really?” He says he and Ziggler have something in common: they can win the big ones. Miz says he is taking over the show. He tells Ziggler he can be his guest and tells Piper and Jericho to get the hell out of the ring. Piper says no and Jericho decks Miz and goes after Ziggler. Jericho tosses Miz out of the ring and clotheslines Ziggler over the top rope. Piper raises Jericho’s hand and they stand tall in the ring as Miz and Ziggler remain on the floor as we go to a commercial.

Match #5: Triple Threat Match: Chris Jericho vs. Dolph Ziggler (w/Vickie Guerrero) vs. The Miz
Miz and Ziggler go to double team Jericho, but he fights out and clotheslines Miz in the corner. Jericho delviers a back drop to Miz and dumps Ziggler to the outside. Jericho kicks Miz in the back and drops him to the mat for a one count. Jericho chops Miz and stomps him. Jericho runs to the ropes, but Ziggler trips him up and pulls him to the outside. Ziggler stomps away on Miz as Jericho gets back into the ring. Ziggler and Miz double team Jericho. Jericho fights back a little bit, but Miz and Ziggler hit a double suplex. Ziggler drops an elbow on Jericho and follows it up with another elbow. Ziggler goes for the cover, but Miz breaks it up at two. Ziggler and Miz argue and Jericho takes advantage. Jericho tosses Miz to the outside and elevates Ziggler over the top rope. Jericho dives over the top rope onto both of them and gets on the announcers’ table to celebrate. Jericho takes the cover off of the table and drops it onto Miz and Ziggler. Jericho tosses Ziggler into the ring, but Ziggler knocks him off of the apron to the floor as we go to a commercial.
We’re back and Miz has Jericho in a submission in the ring as Ziggler is on the outside. Jericho fights out and comes off the ropes, but Miz gets his knee into Jericho’s midsection. Miz catapults Jericho’s head into the bottom rope and kicks Ziggler back down to the floor. Miz goes for a cover, but only gets a two count. Miz slams Jericho back down to the mat and applies a submission again. Jericho fights out again and backs Miz into the corner. Miz reverses and tosses Jericho into the other corner and charges, but Jericho moves out of the way. Jericho connects with a kick to send Ziggler back down to the floor and hits a running bulldog on Miz. Jericho hits the Lionsault, but Ziggler gets back in the ring. Jericho attacks Ziggler and sends him to the outside again and Miz gets caught on the top rope. Jericho goes for a superplex on Miz, but Ziggler gets in the ring and power bombs Jericho as he is superplexing Miz. Ziggler crawls over to Jericho and gets a two count, but Jericho reverses and gets a two count of his own. Ziggler slams Jericho onto the mat and gets another close two count. Ziggler gets up and stalks Jericho, but Miz hits him with the Skull Crushing Finale. Miz goes for the cover, but Jericho breaks up the count. Jericho goes for the Walls of Jericho on Miz, but Miz reverses. Jericho takes Miz down and Ziggler gets back into the ring, but Jericho hits him with a Codebreaker. Jericho gets a two count as Vickie puts Ziggler’s foot on the rope. Miz rolls up Jericho for a two count. Jericho gets Miz in the Walls of Jericho and Miz taps, but Vickie is distracting the referee. Ziggler hits Jericho with the Zig Zag for the pin fall. Winner: Dolph Ziggler.

We go backstage and Eve Torres congratulates CM Punk. Punk asks her what she is talking about. She says congratulations on the new CM Punk. Punk says nothing has changed. Eve says nobody believes that, especially John Cena. Punk says he’ll go tell Cena himself right now.

We are reminded again that Brock Lesnar and Triple H will have a contract signing for their SummerSlam match later tonight as we go to a commercial.

We’re back from commercial and we recap what happened during the CM Punk vs. Big Show match earlier in the night.

We see Shawn Michaels walking backstage and he grabs a water bottle off the table. John Cena walks up and surprises Michaels. Michaels says he is distracted and walks away. CM Punk walks up and Cena asks if he should follow his lead or if Punk is going to stab him in the back. Punk says he is the WWE Champion and isn’t the guy that stabs people in the back. He says he is going to do everything in his power to make sure neither Cena or The Big Show walks out of SummerSlam with the title. Punk says come hell or high water, he is going to make sure it’s all about him as we go to another commercial.

We’re back and we see Wade Barrett’s return vignette.

Match #6: Beth Phoenix and Eve Torres vs. Layla and Kaitlyn
 Phoenix kicks Layla down and then presses her over her head, but Layla reverses into a roll up. Phoenix gets Layla into her corner and tags in Eve. Eve knees Layla in the midsection and tries to take Layla down, but Layla reverses. Layla hits a cross-body and gets a one count. Layla gets Eve in a headlock and then takes Eve down. Eve goes after Kaitlyn and Layla clotheslines Eve for a two count. Layla tags in Kaitlyn, who connects with a backbreaker on Eve. Kaitlyn flips over Eve and gets another two count. Eve whips Kaitlyn into the corner and knocks her down off of the top rope. Eve pounds away on Kaitlyn and goes for a cover, but Kaitlyn kicks out at two. Eve drags Kaitlyn to the corner and tags in Phoenix. Phoenix kicks Kaitlyn and then chokes her in the ropes. Phoenix tosses Kaitlyn into the corner and knocks Layla off the apron. Phoenix and Eve double team Kaitlyn in the corner. Beth charges at Kaitlyn, but Kaitlyn comes back for a bit. Phoenix picks Kaitlyn up on her shoulder, but Kaitlyn fights out and knocks Eve off the apron. Kaitlyn comes back and rolls up Phoenix for the pin fall. Winners: Kaitlyn and Layla.

We take a look back of the last few months of build up in the Brock Lesnar/Triple H feud. We then go backstage to the parking garage where a camera is waiting on Triple H’s arrival.

We see that CM Punk and John Cena vs. Daniel Bryan and The Big Show is up next as we go to a commercial break.

Match #7: CM Punk and John Cena vs. Daniel Bryan and The Big Show
Bryan and Cena start the match and Bryan sends him off of the ropes. Cena comes back with a shoulder block, but Punk tags himself into the match. Show asks for a tag, but Bryan says no. Punk gets Bryan in a headlock and then takes him down with a shoulder block, and Cena tags himself back into the match. Show asks for the tag again, but Bryan says no. Bryan gets Cena in a headlock, but Cena sends him off the ropes and takes him down with a hip toss and then a dropkick. Bryan finally tags in Show, who takes Cena down with a headbutt. Show keeps headbutting Cena and then tosses him into the corner. Cena comes back and tries a shoulder block, but Show doesn’t budge and Cena hits the mat as we go to a commercial.
We’re back and Show is still dominating Cena. Show smashes Cena in the corner, but Cena comes back and kicks Show. Cena jumps at Show, but Show catches him and puts him in a bearhug. Bryan tags himself in and he and Show argue a bit. Bryan charges at Cena in the corner, but Cena moves out of the way. Punk gets into the match and pins Bryan, but Show breaks up the count. Punk reaches for a tag, but Cena isn’t on the apron. Show is tagged him and he goes to work on Punk. Show gets Punk on the ropes and chops him. Punk comes back and jumps towards Show, but Show catches him and puts him in a bearhug. Punk elbows Show in the head and charges at him, but Show delivers a back body drop. Show walks across Punk’s back, but Punk comes back and hits Bryan on the apron before Show catches him and slams him down again. Show sets up for a WMD Punch, but Bryan tags himself in. Show goes to sit down at ringside as Bryan kicks Punk in the ring. Punk comes back and kicks Bryan in the head. Cena begs Punk to tag him in, but Punk just looks at him and takes Bryan down with a couple of shoulder blocks and then a side slam. Punk mimics Cena’s moves, but Cena tags himself him and mimics Punk’s moves. Punk gets fed up, grabs the WWE Championship and gets off the apron. Bryan rolls up Cena, but he kicks out at two. Cena hits Bryan with an Attitude Adjustment for the pin fall as Punk and Show look on from the outside. Winners: John Cena and CM Punk. After the match, Cena is celebrating and Show gets in the ring and looks to attack Cena, but Punk hits him with the WWE Championship belt. Punk and Cena stare at each other and Punk extends his hand. Cena doesn’t accept the handshake and Punk leaves the ring and walks to the back.

We see CM Punk backstage and Josh Mathews asks him for an explanation of what just went down. Punk said John Cena went into business for himself and didn’t care if they won or lost. Punks mocks Cena and says he learned a new move. Punk said Cena turned down his handshake and that is the ultimate form of disrespect. Punk says he will teach everyone about respect at SummerSlam as we go to a commercial.

We’re back and we see Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman talking backstage.

Match #8: Christian vs. Damien Sandow
Sandow takes control and drives his shoulder into Christian in the corner. Sandow slams Christian down and drops an elbow for a two count. Sandow tosses Christian into the corner again and charges, but Christian comes back and takes Sandow down with a forearm shot. Christian connects with a right hand and an elbow from the top rope. Christian goes for the Killswitch, but Sandow gets out of the ring. Christian comes out after him, but Sandown reverses and slams Christian’s head into the ring steps. Sandow tosses Christian back into the ring and Brodus Clay’s music hits. Sandow is distracted and Christian rolls up Sandow for a two count. Sandow takes control back and hits his finisher for the pin fall. Winner: Damien Sandow.

We go backstage and Shawn Michaels runs into Brock Lesnar. Lesnar looks at him and Michaels walks away as Lesnar smirks. We see that the contract signing is next, but Triple H is still not in the building according to Michael Cole.

We’re back and Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman make their way to the ring for the contract signing. Heyman says that Lesnar believes Triple H is having travel issues because nobody wants this match to happen more than Triple H himself. Heyman says Lesnar doesn’t need this match, but Triple H does. Heyman says Triple H will suffer at the hands of Lesnar. Heyman says Shawn Michaels didn’t agree with him. Heyman asks Lesnar if Michaels is in the building. Lesnar smiles and says yes. Heyman says Michaels is welcome to come to the ring and tell Lesnar to his face that he still believes Triple H will win on Sunday. Heyman says everyone from Texas has a yellow streak running up and down their spine and Michaels’ music hits. Michaels gets in the ring and doesn’t say a word. Triple H’s music hits and he makes his way out to the ring. Triple H signs the contract. Lesnar does the same and throws the clipboard at Triple H. Lesnar and Heyman leave the ring and walk up the ramp as Triple H and Michaels look on as we go to a commercial.

We’re back and we see fans’ Tout videos about Booker T’s decision to cancel the World Heavyweight Championship Match at SummerSlam.

We go backstage and see Shawn Michaels and Triple H talking about the match this Sunday. Michaels says he will be there for Triple H, but he has to beat Lesnar on his own.

We go back into the arena where Cole and Lawler talk about what happened earlier to further the feud between CM Punk, John Cena, and The Big Show. Matt Striker is about to interview Show backstage when we hear a car crash and see that Paul Heyman pulled out in front of Shawn Michaels. Heyman says he’s sorry and then Brock Lesnar comes out of nowhere and drags Michaels out of the car. The screen goes black and we hear all sorts of noise and screams before we go to a commercial.

We’re back and we see the window on Shawn Michaels’ rental car is shattered. Everybody is asking where Shawn is and nobody knows. Triple H walks in and asks what happened. Triple H asks AJ where Shawn is and she says Brock dragged him away.

We go back into the arena and see Lesnar carrying Michaels to the ring. Lesnar tosses Michaels into the ring and stalks him. Lesnar picks Michaells up and hits him with an F-5. Shawn tries to drag himself up, but Lesnar gets him in the Kamora Lock. Triple H runs down to the ramp, but Heyman tells him to stop. Heyman says if he takes one more step, Lesnar will break Michaels’ arm. Triple H stays put, but Lesnar apllies the hold fully anyway and Triple H rushes the ring. Lesnar and Heyman escape as Triple H chases them around the ring. Triple H gets into the ring and says he is sorry to Michaels, but Michaels tells him to get away from him. Lesnar teases going back to the ring, but Heyman stops him and Triple H looks at him. Raw comes to a close with Triple H and Lesnar having words.
