7/11/13 Impact Wrestling Coverage

Impact kicks off with a “Previously on Impact Wrestling” video package, focusing on Suicide, aka Austin Aries, winning the TNA X Division Championship, only for Hulk Hogan to cancel out Option C, and Chris Sabin subsequently winning the X Division Championship from Aries. The video transitions to the on-going feud between the Aces and Eights and the New Main Event Mafia.

We see Bully Ray walking backstage. He brings up his wife, Brooke Hogan, and says who dare she go out and get engaged. Ray says she moves on when he says she moves on, and we go into the arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Bound for Glory Series will be contested in a series of tag team matches and a gauntlet match tonight, and Gail Kim and Taryn Terrell will battle in a Ladder Match. Aces and Eights’ music hits, and Bully Ray leads the troops to the ring.

Ray grabs a mic and talks about Chris Sabin’s opportunity to challenge him for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship at Destination X next Thursday night. Ray tells Sabin to do himself a favor and hold on to the X Division Championship. Ray says Sabin doesn’t want any part of him, because he is a bad mad who does bad things to little people like Sabin. Ray says the Aces and Eights will vote in a new Vice President, and he means the Aces and Eights will vote, not the fans. Ray brings up the New Main Event Mafia and the challenge that they issued. Ray says the Aces and Eights positively say no. Ray says they fight on their terms as the Main Event Mafia’s music hits, and Sting, Kurt Angle, Samoa Joe, and Magnus come to the stage. Angle says Ray needs to take that challenge as a warning. Angle says Ray is defending the World title next week, and next week, the Main Event Mafia will take the Aces and Eights out one by one, and will end the night as they make sure Bully Ray is all alone. Sting says we will find out the newest member of the New Main Event Mafia by the end of the night.

The Joker’s Wild Tag Team Bound for Glory Series Tournament Matches will begin after the commercial break.

Jeremy Borash and Christy Hemme are on the stage and spin the wheel to announce the first Joker’s Wild Bound for Glory Series Tag Team Match.

Match #1: Joker’s Wild Tag Team Match: A.J. Styles and Samoa Joe vs. Jeff Hardy and Joseph Park.
Styles and Park start the match. Styles ducks under Park a couple of times and then kicks him in the hamstring area. Park gets to his corner and tags in Hardy. Styles and Hardy tie up, and Hardy takes Styles down with a hip toss and an arm drag. Hardy connects with a front suplex and goes for the cover, but Styles quickly kicks out. Joe tags himself him and beats down Hardy. Joe takes Hardy down with a running back elbow and goes for the cover, but Hardy kicks out at two. Joe smashes Hardy in the corner and drags him to his corner and tags in Styles. Hardy comes back and beats down Styles in the corner, but Styles comes back and locks in the Calk Killer submission. Park breaks the hold and Hardy comes back and takes Styles down with a dropkick. Hardy tags in Park and Styles tags in Joe. Park takes Joe down and delivers a back-body drop to Styles that sends him to the floor. Styles flies off the top rope and knocks Park into Joe, who applies the rear-naked choke and Park taps out.
Winners: Samoa Joe and A.J. Styles.

We see Taryn Terrell warming up for her Ladder Match backstage. Jeremy Borash and Christy Hemme are pulling names from the wheel again.

Match #2: Joker’s Wild Tag Team Match: Hernandez and Jay Bradley vs. Magnus and Mr. Anderson
Magnus and Hernandez start the match. Anderson wants to start, so Magnus steps onto the apron and Anderson enters the ring. Anderson dances around the ring and tags Magnus right back in. Bradley gets into the ring for his team and takes Magnus down with a shoulder block. Magnus comes back and takes Bradley down with a running knee lift. Bradley gets away and tags in Hernandez. Magnus cuts Hernandez off and goes to tag Anderson in, but Anderson feigns an injury on the apron. Hernandez takes Magnus to his corner and tags in Bradley, who beats down Magnus. Bradley tags in Hernandez, who takes Magnus down with a dropkick. Hernandez goes for the cover, but Magnus kicks out at two. Hernandez tags in Bradley, who takes Magnus to the corner and beats him down. Bradley sends Magnus to the opposite corner, but Magnus counters and delivers a big boot to Bradley. Magnus goes to tag Anderson again, but Anderson doesn’t accept. Bradley tags in Hernandez. Hernandez sends Magnus off the ropes and Bradley kicks him in the back. Hernandez grabs Magnus, but Magnus rolls him up out of nowhere and gets the pin fall.
Winners: Magnus and Mr. Anderson.

We see Austin Aries and Bobby Roode backstage. Aries says it took everybody in the company to take the X Division Championship from him last week, and maybe if Roode would have been out there to help him things would have been different. Roode says he is 0-3 in the BFG Series and he needs the win and the 25 points tonight. Bad Influence walk in and say that they can’t wait to face Aries and Roode later tonight.

We are reminded that the fifth member of the New Main Event Mafia will be revealed later tonight as we go to a commercial.

We see Gail Kim warming up for her Ladder Match backstage. Jeremy Borash and Christy Hemme draw the final names for the Joker’s Wild Tag Team Matches.

Match #3: Joker’s Wild Tag Team Match: Austin Aries and Christopher Daniels vs. Bobby Roode and Kazarian.
Daniels and Kazarian start the match. They walk around the ring and Aries tags himself in. Kazarian takes Aries down with a drop-toe hold. Aries comes back and sends Kazarian off the ropes, but Kazarian tags him down with a shoulder block. Aries comes back and takes Kazarian down with a dropkick and Daniels tags himself in. Daniels doesn’t lay a hand on Kazarian and tells him to tag in Roode. Roode takes Daniels down and drops a knee and goes for the cover, but Daniels kicks out at two. Daniels gets away and tags in Aries. Aries and Roode tie up and swap a standing switch. Roode sends Aries to the apron, but Aries takes Kazarian out. Aries tries to launch himself back into the ring, but Kazarian comes back and takes him down to the floor as we head to a commercial break.
We’re back and Aries and Kazarian are in the ring together. Kazarian takes Aries down and goes for the cover, but Aries kicks out at two. Kazarian goes for the Fade to Black, but Aries rolls him up and gets a two count. Aries nails Kazarian with a discus shot. Aries tags Daniels and Kazarian tags Roode and Roode delivers the Double R Spinebuster and goes for the cover, but Daniels kicks out at two. Daniels comes back and slams Roode to the mat and Aries tags himself in. Aries takes Roode down with a missile dropkick. Aries tries to smash Roode in the corner, but Roode moves and Kazarian comes into the ring. Kazarian slams Aries to the mat and goes for the cover, but Daniels breaks it up. Kazarian and Daniels argue and Kazarian gets Daniels in a roll up and gets the pin fall.
Winners: Kazarian and Bobby Roode.

We see the Aces and Eights backstage. Bully Ray says they are going to meet up with Taz and they are going to vote on the new Vice President and will put it to rest.

Taryn Terrell vs. Gail Kim in a Ladder Match will take place after the commercial break.

We’re back and we see Hulk Hogan and Brooke Hogan backstage. They argue about Bully Ray, and Brooke says she just wants to do her job tonight and Ray is not a concern. Hogan tells her to take care of all of her business.

We see Aces and Eights backstage. Ray says the past year has been one hell of a year, but there has been a problem within the club recently. Ray says he is going to leave the voting up to the rest of the members, because he’s not voting. Anderson votes for himself. D.O.C. votes for himself. Wes votes for Anderson. Devon votes for D.O.C. Garett votes for Anderson. Taz votes for D.O.C. The vote is 3-3, and Knux clanks beers with D.O.C. and votes for Anderson. D.O.C. gets in Knux’s face, and Knux says it’s not about him, it’s about the club.

Mickie James’ music hits and she will be ringside for the following contest.

Match #4: #1 Contender’s (TNA Women’s Knockout Championship) Ladder Match: Gail Kim vs. Taryn Terrell
Gail attacks Taryn as soon as she gets into the ring. Taryn comes back and drops Gail with a few clotheslines and then slams her to the mat. Taryn tosses Gail over the top rope and Gail lands hard on the entrance ramp. Gail gets back into the ring and Taryn delivers a Spear. Gail comes back and takes Taryn down and goes to the outside to grab a ladder. Taryn gets back into the ring and they fight over the ladder. Taryn backs Gail into the corner and dropkicks the ladder into her. Gail comes back and slaps Taryn across the face. Taryn takes Gail down with a swinging neck-breaker. Taryn tosses Gail towards the ladder, but Gail climbs the ladder and goes for a cross-body, but Taryn delivers a knee shot that sends Gail down to the mat. Taryn places the ladder in the middle of the ring, but Gail cuts her off. Gail sends Taryn face-first into the side of the ladder. Gail sets the ladder back up and begins to climb, but Taryn cuts her off. Gail sends Taryn into the turnbuckle and then goes for the Figure Four leglock around the ring post, but Taryn pulls Gail into the ring post. Taryn is down in the ring and Gail is down on the outside as we head to a commercial.
We’re back and Gail and Taryn are fighting at the top of the ladder. The ladder crashes over and both ladies get hung up on the top rope. They get back to their feet and Taryn shoves the ladder into Gail’s face. Taryn goes to the outside and grabs another ladder and Gail gets to her feet. Taryn places the second ladder on the ropes and the other ladder as Gail begins to climb. Taryn cuts her off. Tayrn places Gail on the second ladder and goes to the top rope, but Gail rolls off the ladder. Gail wraps Taryn’s leg around the ladder and locks in the Figure Four leglock. Gail climbs one side of the ladder and Taryn climbs the other and they exchange right hands on top of the ladder. Taryn chokes Gail out and drops her down to the mat. Taryn reaches for the contract, but she can’t get to it and Gail gets back to her feet. Taryn connects with a cross-body and takes Gail down again. They get back to their feet and begin climbing the ladder on the same side. Gail slams Taryn down to the mat, but falls off the other side. Gail goes for the Eat Defeat, but Taryn locks in the Dragon Sleeper. Up against the ropes, Gail grabs Taryn’s hair and ties it in a knot around the middle rope. Taryn can’t get her hair free and Gail climbs the ladder and grabs the contract.
Winner: Gail Kim.

We see Kurt Angle and Sting backstage. Sting says they made the right choice by adding Magnus and Samoa Joe to the New Main Event Mafia. Angle asks if Sting has heard from the fifth guy yet, and right on cue Sting’s phone rings as we head to a commercial.

We’re back and Sting and Kurt Angle are excited that the fifth member of the New Main Event Mafia has arrived in the building.

Match #5: Joker’s Wild Bound for Glory Series Gauntlet Match – A.J. Styles vs. Bobby Roode vs. Kazarian vs. Magnus vs. Mr. Anderson vs. Samoa Joe
Styles and Magnus start the match. Lots of back and forth and Styles takes Magnus down as Kazarian enters the match. Kazarian comes into the ring and slams Styles down to the mat. Kazarian goes after Magnus, but Styles cuts him off. Styles suplexes Kazarian into the turnbuckles and goes after Magnus. Kazarian recovers and takes Styles down with a suplex of his own. Kazarian delivers a forearm shot to Magnus as Samoa Joe enters the match. Joe goes after Kazarian as Magnus tries to eliminate Styles. Magnus and Kazarian get sent down to the mat and Joe unloads right hands on Styles as we head to a commercial.
We’re back and all six guys are in the ring now. Styles and Roode square off and Roode slams Styles in the middle of the ring. Roode gets Styles elevated, and Anderson clotheslines Styles over the top rope for the elimination. Kazarian is eliminated as well. Joe goes after Anderson and delivers a hard clothesline that sends both himself and Anderson over the top rope. We’re down to Bobby Roode and Magnus. Roode takes Magnus down with the Double R Spinebuster and goes for the cover, but Magnus kicks out at two. Roode locks in the Crossface, but Magnus fights out. Magnus locks in a Texas Cloverleaf, but Roode gets to the ropes. Roode fights back and chops Magnus in the corner. Roode goes for a superplex, but Magnus knocks him down to the mat. Magnus goes for an elbow drop, but Roode rolls out of the way. Roode goes for a clothesline, but Magnus shoves him against the ropes. Roode reverses and goes for a roll-up, but Magnus reverses into his own roll-up and gets the pin fall.
Winner and recipient of 25 BFG Series points: Magnus.

We will find out if Chris Sabin will cash in the X Division Championship for a shot at the TNA World Heavyweight Championship after the commercial break.

Hulk Hogan’s music hits and he makes his way to the ring. Hogan says Destination X will be live and free on SpikeTV next week and he says the man he is about to call to the ring has the chance, if he wants it, to become the next World Heavyweight Champion. Chris Sabin’s music hits and he comes to the ring. Hogan calls Sabin the greatest and hands him the microphone. Sabin says there was a time not too long ago that he thought he would never compete in the ring again. Sabin says he never gave up on his dream to become the World Heavyweight Champion. Sabin goes to hand the X Division belt to Hogan, but Aces and Eights’ music hits. Bully Ray leads the troops to the ring. Ray tells Hulk to tell Brooke that they have unfinished business. Ray turns his attention to Sabin. Ray tells him to not hand the title over to Hogan. Ray tells Hogan that he is going to get Sabin in trouble with him. Ray tells Sabin that he is a bad person that does bad things. Ray says there is no way in hell that Sabin could beat him. Ray says he is going to beat the living piss out of Sabin if he cashes in the belt. Sabin tells Ray to shut up and reminds him that he was the one to pin Ray in Team 3D’s retirement match. Sabin says he is the only man to kick out of the 3D, and this is nothing new to him. Sabin says all he needs is one shot and he will do it on July 18th. Sabin goes to hand the belt to Hogan, and Ray tells him not to. Sabin does it anyway and Ray says he just signed his death warrant. Ray says he has taken everyone in this company down. Ray says Sabin is fighting all of Aces and Eights at Destination X. Main Event Mafia’s music hits and Angle, Sting, Magnus, and Joe come to the stage. Sting says Ray will face Sabin by himself and the Main Event Mafia will see to that, including their new member, Rampage Jackson. The New Main Event Mafia stand tall on the stage as Sabin and Ray stare each other down as Impact Wrestling comes to a close.
