Sean Radican of the PWTorch is reporting that Samoa Joe has signed a full-time contract with WWE. The reasons are attributed to his merchandise sales being red hot, and he impressed a lot of people at the last set of NXT tapings.
As a result, Vince McMahon and Triple H pushed to get him to sign the deal right away. Joe will fulfill his remaining independent dates, but there is no word yet as to whether or not he will stay in NXT or transition to the main roster.
Thoughts: Money talks when it comes to signing talent, however, I wonder if the ROH deal with Destination America sped up WWE’s process as it relates to signing Samoa Joe? No matter how you slice it, Joe is a world class talent that belongs in the big time.
It will be interesting to see if Samoa Joe will end up working the ROH’s TV tapings scheduled for 6/20 where is he scheduled to team with AJ Styles and wrestle Frankie Kazarian and Christopher Daniels.
