Dwayne Johnson to play lead role in the Janson Directive movie

Universal is teaming up again with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson to launch The Janson Directive, a movie adapted from Robert Ludlum’s works, the man behind the Bourne Identity franchise. The plan behind this movie is to launch it as the next franchise. “The Janson Directive is classic Robert Ludlum,” Johnson told The Hollywood Reporter. “Sharp, edgy and layered storylines. The character is complex, conflicted, bad ass and lethal – I can’t wait to sink my teeth into this and bring him to life.

Between Jamie, Akiva, Captivate and Universal, it’s an exciting time to help produce and build out this awesome Ludlum universe.” Johnson’s next movie out is Central Intelligence and lined up for him are Moana, Fast 8, Baywatch, Jumanji, Shazam!, Rampage, San Andreas 2, and Journey 3.
